MBRSLP Privacy Policy

 

The Smart Learning Gateway, Smart Majlis and EduShare platforms ("the Service") are provided and managed by Mohamed bin Rashid’s Smart Learning Programme ("MBRSLP"). In this document, the terms "we", "us" and "our" are to be taken as referring to the MBRSLP.

Users of the Service (“the Users), may include, and are not limited to, teachers, principals and other schools staff who hold Ministry of education e-mail accounts; MBRSLP staff, MoE staff and associates, such as training facilitators and administrators, as well as students and parents.

This privacy policy describes the personal information that we collect to enable you to use our services, what we do with this information and who is able to see it. It also describes the ways in which you can manage your information and protect your privacy and security.

When you first access your new personal home page, you should be aware that some data will be visible to other users of the Service, including your full name, photograph (if you have chosen one) and people you are following.

You can decide what other information you wish other users of the system to see by accessing the My Preferences page. There you will be able to add information such as a brief description of yourself or add a photograph to accompany your profile (which need not be a physical representation).

It is strongly advised that no personal data such as telephone numbers or personal e-mail addresses is published on your profile, or given out via groups or forums.

Your personal information (which includes your full name, e-mail address and any other details you provide to us which concern you as an individual) may be processed by MBRSLP and the Ministry of Education.

Each of the bodies authorised to process your information as mentioned above will do so in accordance with this privacy policy, and in compliance with the UAE and Dubai privacy and security acts.

We will use your information to provide you with access to the Smart Learning Gateway, to find and share content on EduShare, and to allow you to post messages on message boards or forums, to upload resources to the repository, and to set up a personal profile.

We may also process your information to keep you informed about our services via email and to give you the opportunity to be involved in evaluation/improvement of MBRSLP programmes and services.

Your information may also be used to enable us and third parties acting on our behalf to analyse your information, in a non-identifying form, (generally in the form of statistics), so that we can identify trends about usage of the Service and improve it.

We undertake not to provide your personal information to any third parties save in accordance with this policy. Your information will not be disclosed to government or local authorities or other government institutions save as required by law or other binding regulations.

We may send a small file to your computer when you visit the LMS and collaborative platform. We may use cookies to collect and store personal data and we link information stored by cookies with personal data you supply to us. Save for the use of cookies, we do not automatically log data or collect data save for information you specifically provide to us. You can set your computer browser to reject cookies but this may preclude your use of certain parts of the Service.

The handling of all personal information by Dubai Government departments and entities is governed by UAE and Dubai privacy and security legislation. We are committed to protecting your privacy whether you are browsing for information or conducting business with the government electronically.

We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from unauthorised access, improper use and disclosure, unauthorised destruction or accidental loss.
